The Journal of Chinese Medicine (JCM) is the foremost English language publication devoted to the whole field of traditional Chinese Medicine.

The Brief

The Brief

CM asked Liquid Light to redesign and redevelop an entirely new e-Commerce website that supports and promotes the Journal. The website also needed to provide a number of e-Shops where students, practitioners and the general public can purchase a wide variety of related products.

The Challenge

The Challenge

The challenge with this project was to strike a balance between the needs and reputation of the JCM Journal, whilst still developing an elegant and easy-to-use e-Commerce website.

Although the website features a lot of e-Commerce functionality, it was important to protect and strengthen the Journal’s professional reputation, and not seem to over sell.

The site also needed to provide access to a vast amount of related information and content including nearly all of JCM’s 25-year archive of published articles.

The Result

The Result

The result is a beautifully designed, usable and easy-to-update website that effectively promotes the journal and all products for sale on the website without seeming too ‘hard sell’. The site has proved very popular with users. Naturally, the site is also W3C compliant.
