The Maples Group comprises Maples and Calder - a leading international law firm and MaplesFS - a leading independent provider of specialised fiduciary and fund services. Formed in the Cayman Islands almost 50 years ago, Maples and Calder has grown to become a market leading international law firm.
The Brief
- Dramatically improve Maples and Calder's online visual look and feel
- Clearly communicate the company's benefits and strengths
- Differentiate Maples and Calder amongs a competitive marketplace
- Improve a visitor's understanding of services offered
- Encourage cross-sell across services and regions
- Enhance search engine visibility for relevant terms
- Provide a powerful CMS, allowing easily manageable website content
The Challenge
The real challenge for this project primarily focused on defining a fresh new visual identity that would distinguish the organisation amongst a traditional, professional and competitive environment.
We also needed to work out how best to promote their specialist work in three very different jurisdictions (British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and Ireland). By emphasising these specialisms we not only helped to demonstrate a powerful USP, but also helped to attract other legal organisations to use Maples & Calder's services for their specialist experience.
The Result
- Using our ‘mood-boarding’ creative process, we redefined and rejuvenated the Maples & Calder brand, developing a unique and engaging identity.
- The new persona and our strategic content profiling workshop, helped to focus the site to be far more visito-centric, addressing their needs and demonstrating the benefits associated with Maples & Calder’s global reach, years of experience and position in the market.
- Clearly crafted content organized geographically by practice areas; creates an easy to navigate site that the user can use to quickly locate the information they want.
- Designed from the ground level up to perform well in search engines, the sites have experienced significantly increased SE visibility.
- The volume of content combined with the regionally-orientated site architecture required an enterprise-level CMS tool. TYPO3 was the most appropriate solution, providing quick and efficient content management.
The end product is a beautifully designed, engaging website, brimming with knowledge leading and informative content.
