Media Development Loan Fund
Media Development Loan Fund (MDLF) is a mission-driven investment fund for independent news outlets in countries with a history of media oppression.
The Brief
MDLF approached Liquid Light with the intention of incorporating their existing logo and identity into a complete site redesign and reposition. They wanted a top end professional site that would better communicate what they do with an emphasis on their credibility and suitability to potential investors and donors.
The Challenge
Due to the niche nature of the work at MDLF, it was a challenge to communicate cleanly and effectively exactly what they do. It was important to get a balance between the media savy side of their excellence in design and communication with the NGO support aspect. Due to the nature of MDLF being a small organisation, Liquid Light had to make the most of their marketing collateral to clearly show what they deliver.
In addition, MDLF wanted to continue using their own content management system, so Liquid Light needed to create a design and template that would work seamlessly with this.
The Result
MDLF now have a polished, professional site that strikes a creative balance between a media persona and feel, helping to refine the presentation of the organisation as a credible entity. The site utilises clean, white space to help break down the segmenting needs of the audience and allow ease of access to information. The use of case studies in rich media has been used in an effective way to convey the message of what they do and therefore making the organisation more accessible to the outside world.
There has been a definite tangible benefit for Liquid Light in working with MDLF, in the sense that by helping them do their job right, this consequently has a massive ripple effect on so many.
