Parasol

Parasol is one of the leading names in contractor and freelancer support, providing 100% compliant, tax-friendly support service for contractors and freelancers. Parasol’s services are designed to help members manage their financial affairs, expenses and invoicing whilst making sure they stay on the right side of the law - allowing them to enjoy as much of their hard-earned rewards as possible.

The Brief

Liquid Light were approached to redesign the Parasol website for a second time.  With a completely new brand, Parasol wanted the new site to incorporate the look and feel of their new image as well as fresh content, new site architecture and search engine optimised (SEO) content.

The overall aim of their new brand and site was to portray Parasol as a much more friendly and approachable company, whist still maintaining their image of being knowledgeable and differentiated in the competitive market space.  The website launch needed to coincide with other external marketing of their brand re-launch, so the team at Liquid Light had to work to a tight timeline.

The Challenge

The main challenge lay in interpreting the print brand guide into a convincing online format with an element of consistency.

The design team wanted to convey a notion of stepping into a world of Parasol and endeavored to bring Mr. Parasol (Lance Freer) to life with tasteful animation.  Quick thinking and decision making was needed to meet the tight deadline.

The Result

The result is an engaging, colourful, professional looking marketing site, which effortlessly communicates to the user in a friendly and personal manner what the Parasol service is and how it can benefit them.  The design of the site enables the user to engage with the new brand and develop a relationship with the entity.  The site includes news feeds, calculators, competitor comparisons and guides for both experienced and new clients. 

The site has had outstanding feedback across the board since it’s launch which happened on time to meet the overall re-launch of the Parasol brand. The Liquid Light team also thoroughly enjoyed the big box of chocolates and champagne that Parasol sent as a thank you for all their hard work! Aww...

I've been really impressed with the way they interpreted our embryonic brand guidelines and delivered a new website that was better than anything I envisioned.
