Land Securities approached us wanting an inspiring promotional video for The Elements shopping centre in Livingston. The Elements is one of Land Securities' newest development projects - an exciting mixed-use development, incorporating retail, housing, leisure and catering. The £90 million development has already begun and completion is anticipated for winter 2008.
We were to direct and produce a promotional video that created interest and excitment in "The Elements" development, with the main aim of attracting interest from prospective retailers looking to rent space in the new development, as well as creating positive opinion from the following stake holders:
- The local residential community
- Affected businesses
- Potential retail tenants
- Development partners
- Local government
Land securities wanted more than just a straightforward documentation of The Elements development. The video had to reflect the powerful Elements branding and show its enhancement of the local community. In order to set the scene, one of the main challenges was to create an enticing atmosphere and engaging narrative in order to to show Livingston and surrounding area in the best possible light.
We worked very closely with our script writer and an associate production company to plan and storyboard the entire project.
By conceiving a strong initial concept and style we were able to work with a striking idea, which allowed us to use our creativity to its full effect.
From concept to completion Liquid Light creatively directed & produced the piece, employing the latest techniques in compositing and 3D motion tracking to create this engaging and contemporary view of one of Land Securities finest achievements.
Overall, this project won two awards:
- Interactive Media Awards (IMA) - Outstanding achievement in Architecture/Interior Design
- Davey Awards - Silver Award in Real Estate
