Liquid Light were chosen for this project due to our extensive knowledge and experience working with the TYPO3 content management system, which there existing website already used. Vischer approached us to modernise the appearance of their website, rethink the user experience and simplify their large service offering and extensive history of documents knowledge and publications.
As a forward thinking and modern law firm a strong clean design was essential in portraying the firm as the industry leaders they are and ensuring they stand out from their competitors.
The legal sector is a competitive space and the new website would play a key part in helping differentiate Vischer from the competition. Key challenges included:
- Large scale migration of historic content
- Creating a modern browsing experience whilst still working within the confines that the migrated content bought across
- Improved search engine visibility
- A clearer and simplified set of services
- Easy access to team profiles
- Working with a large stakeholder group to make decisions.
- Multilingual website including English, German & Chinese
Our tried and tested design process allows us to break up the large task of defining a visual identity and brand messaging into manageable chunks. For this project we used concept boards to discuss imagery and messaging with the stakeholders without the added confusion of critiquing design at the same time.
Alongside this process we used mood boards to explore a wide range of visual personas. Using mood boards allows us to very quickly explore a lot of different approaches in a timely and cost effective way. Once a direction was agreed we moved into a styletile process, these allow us to further define the visual approach more specifically for web use.
Built using the TYPO3 content management system this site like all of our websites focuses on performance and accessibility. The website is easily editable by the client with full training provided by us to ensure day to day updates can be made without delay.
The site features a powerful sitewide search to ensure users can easily find what they are looking for.
Our focus on performance has achieved a google lighthouse score of 100 across all categories including performance, accessibility, best practices and search engine optimisation.
The finished website won a silver W3 award for celebrating digital excellence. The new website is a clean and minimal site with a modern aesthetic. Beautiful images of the team at work were commissioned by Vischer to support the messaging around being part of your team and further aid in showcasing the culture at Vischer.
The service section of the website was completely overhauled. We re-wrote much of the content to greatly reduce the volume whilst still ensuring the key messaging was present and written in a way to appeal to prospective clients.
We worked hard to ensure that services, knowledge and team members were seamlessly linked, so however a visitor gets to a piece of content they have an easy route to explore specialisms and supporting knowledge articles.
