Using column elements in TYPO3 is a great way to create interesting layouts for your website and the TYPO3 column element is easy to use and very flexible allowing all manner of different applications.

In this short TYPO3 training video, I show you how to add a column element to a page and how to use it to create different column layouts.

TL;DR

You can find the column elements under the flexible content tab of the new element screen. Choose from 2, 3, 4 or 5 columns, set the layout ratio (2 column only) and save and close. You will now see the new element on the page and can add any other element within the newly created columns.
