Our Shortcodes extension allows you to embed a YouTube video inline in your TYPO3 RTE content, without creating separate or custom content elements.

Borrowed from WordPress, the syntax is familiar. Using square brackets, you only need to specify the service and related ID/URL. There is no need to remember specific or tricky HTML or specific embed URLs.

It works for generic iframes too, so if you need to embed third-party content without writing and editing the HTML yourself.

Out of the box it supports YouTube, Vimeo, generic iframes and plenty more. Embeds break out of surrounding paragraph tags automatically to keep your HTML semantic, and everything is wrapped in a consistent, styleable container.

For developers, custom keywords can be created with a straightforward syntax. Existing ones can also be overridden if you need different output for a specific project.
